šŸ³ whale, hello there!

āš”ļø i'm back! welcome to lowercase & emoji taste šŸ’… after a much needed break/hiatus, she is back at it. there is something about starting fresh that i really love. i've had to start over a couple of times in my relatively short life, and honestly, it's alwasy been a good move. i think the easiest way to start is to catch everybody up.

šŸ„ā€ā™€ļø since february, which i believe was my last entry, a lot has changed. as of today, i've read 62 books. (my plan is to make a mock app for tracking books, but i digress). one of my best friends taught me the freestyle stroke, and now swimming is one of my favorite workouts. i've also really picked back up on getting back to the gym, and have physically changed a lot due to that. the body positivity train is a slow one, but i'm working it out in my own time. as of february 13th, i'm sober from alcohol & that feels good. i also haven't dabbled too much into social media. with the exception of linkedin, i've stayed inactive on all socials. i start a new job on august 8th at CGI Federal as a scrum master and will be playing around a ton in DevOps which is something i've only had minimal high level exposure to in the past. it will be fun to mix up my frontend knowledge with some CI/CD skills. if it helps put all of the pieces together, and there's always something to learn, i'm 100% in.

šŸ›  so while i start very soon, i've been diving in to a course on DevOps on Udemy, and have already learned a ton about containers, virtual machines, automation, running scripts, and networking. this is not my wheelhouse, but it's a nice break from frontend development. a former co-worker once told me that it's good to try your hand at many things even if they aren't what you're best at. it all serves a purpose. that's what i'm trying to do, and i'm looking ahead to a really interesting journey with CGI.

šŸ”„ i'll keep this short, but it's great to be back, and i'm excited to revive this. if you haven't already, check out the about section that explains a little more about the "re-brand" of this blog especially if you followed it before. feel free to connect with me on linkedin. in the meantime, stay hydrated! it's hot!
